Since 1994, the founders of Teragren have upheld a mission to help reduce the dependence on dwindling timber resources by manufacturing bamboo flooring and other product.
Tergaren Bamboo uses Moso bamboo located in the Zhejiang Province of China. There are more than 1,500 species of bamboo, moso (Phyllostachys pubescens) is among the hardest with dense fibres that make for strong timber and beautiful durable bamboo flooring. These plantation are managed by independent farmesrs who are paid a fair market value for the raw materials. Teragren bamboo is harvested at maturity at 5-1/2 to 6 years, leaving behind a thriving plant and new shoots. Unlike hardwood trees requiring more than 60 years to mature, bamboo is a grass that is renewably harvested over and over from the same root stalk.
Teragren specifications protect the environment around the world and in your home. The durable factory finish on their flooring is a water-based, solvent-free, five-coat aluminum oxide/scratch-resistant polyurethane finish for easy care and durability.
All our flooring products carry a 25-year structural warranty. Teragren’s Signature Naturals, Signature Colors, Craftsman, Synergy solid-strip, Synergy wide-plank floating floor, and Studio wide-plank floating floor bamboo flooring products carry a 25-year residential-use finish warranty and a 5-year commercial-use finish warranty.
